Make a Pennywhistle from Pennies

The latest issue of MAKE, Volume 23, features another one of Tom
Parker's whimsical projects made from coins. The idea behind his
column, Make: Money, is to show how to make useful objects out of
coins (and a few other scrap items) that cost less than the price

shirt buttons, a fishing lure, a mouse trap, a chess set, salt
& pepper shakers, pinhole glasses, a bottle opener, and wind

the curved opening in the fence. The gate (door) was made like a
standard wooden gate, but with a 6' diameter roundness to it. The
far left green door board is actually a part of the fence, as that
creates a straight vertical hinge point for a pair of heavy-duty
hinge...

it's been imported to the U.S. where it fetches prices as high as
$10 a bottle. Minneapolis maker Dave Toews (pronounced TAVES)
bought a case of the stuff, but decided he wanted to create a more
economical alternative using Club-Mate's sig...
